Where did your name come from?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 21, 2007:

Hmm. I like this.  My name is Brandon.

My mother named me...said my name meant "brave."  About that, I am not sure.  Haven't been very brave as of late, especially with her.  Later would I do research into my name, and find that it has several meanings.

~ "Little Raven" - Gaelic/Celtic.
~ Derived from a surname and place name based on the Old English for "hill covered with broom."  Broom is a prolific weed. - English.
~ Also, "(He who hails) from the beacon hill."  This one is both English and Teutonic (German).

The last one I perfer with great relish.  For me, it implies a man that guards and keeps a beacon, or light.  For me, it's like I was named the thing I was supposed to be.
