Here are a couple of my thoughts. I hope they help.
The word “god” is very similar to the word “good” and the word “devil” is very similar to the word “evil.”
I was elected to our local water board. I was surprised to find that I had to swear an oath,”I will faithfully discharge all the duties….SO HELP ME GOD.” I was really taken aback. I had to sit and ponder this. Honesty is important to me. I don’t believe in God in the sense that this oath was written. I finally decided that for me GOD is a code word for all that is good in the universe.

For you to find a word which your “mind might accept at all times” YOU will need to find your own definition of what “God” is to YOU and then find a word that seems to best define that for YOU. Can you guess what word I use?
