The real questions...

Posted on Mar 16th, 2007 by oraktoraeneo : bringer of light oraktoraeneo

1. What is a raise in consciousness like?
2. What might one experience having done this?
3. How does one do this?
4. Is there a limit to what one can be that inevitably diminishes the progress of spiritual development?
5. Is being a good person, understanding "connectivity," et cetera, enough?

These are the things that I ask myself each and every day.  I wonder if I'm doing it right - if that even exists.  I. Outwardly/inwardly, I have a love for languages (this brings me joy).  This makes me want to be a linguist.  II. Outwardly, I'm a heckuvan artist (this brings me joy).  At one point, I wanted to be a graphic designer.  III. Outwardly/inwardly, I have a love for swordplay, and am pretty good with a katana (this brings me joy).  Eventually, I want to study Aikido.  IV. Inwardly, I love things that appear super-normal (this brings me joy).  I enjoy giving them definition.  From this, I have developed an understanding of spiritual principles; most favorably the Tao, for it's oddly non-specific dual realizations.

These
are things that I know are a part of me.  Is this enough...enough to be on the right track?  Eckhart Tolle says that for someone to be evolved, spiritually, one must not possess an ulterior motive to what they do...sometimes I think that I do: a selfish one, one that isn't meaningful.  It all comes back to my last question - is it alright to be who you presently are, when you have an idea that there's a better way?  And, finally, how does one know if they are truly sincere?

I don't want my ego.

A raise in consciousness can be something as simple as what psychologists might call a peak experience, feeling a sense of connectivity, a sense of peace, a sense of completion. And the more experiences you have of these sort, the easier it is to have them again.

You are all alone in your quest. Only you alone can explore, experiment and experience. There is no need to depend on an outer authority for the answer to your questions. They are all there within. If you inquire without then you will get different, and even contradictory ideas. They will all be true but only to the experiencer himself. Because he too is alone and unique on this path. So simply be and observe. You will keep moving up along the spiral path.
